Prison changed him, or more accurately, it's what he did to kill time in federal prison that changed him; he learned chess. When Eugene is released from prison, he is like many ex- cons - trying to find work, rebuild damaged relationships with his family and struggling to find a place in society. But Eugene changes his life through chess. He beings by teaching the most undisciplined, most troubled youth the game. Viewer discretion is advised.
